Whenever you try to make weed brownies, do they come out too strong? Or perhaps they just taste like…eating a mouthful of weed? Fear weed baking no more, there is now a cook book out there that can help you make amazing weed edibles that go beyond the brownies from your stoned college days. While most of the weed edibles out there are sweets like cookies and brownies, there is much more gourmet things to be had.

The book is known as Herb: Mastering the Art of Cooking With Cannabis, and it focuses on recipes that aren’t going to get you so stoned that you end up sick and laying on the couch for 12 hours, they treat marijuana as just another spice or addition that you can use in food – with some amazing benefits of course, but the recipes not only make you feel great – they also taste great.

Funnily enough, the title is a play on another famous cookbook by chef Julia Child, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. It’s clear that the authors hope to revolutionize the culinary field the same way that Julia did, by giving people new ways to think of weed edibles.

Cooking with weed is a little time consuming. In order to even get it to work, you have to toast the weed for 40 minutes. After that long period of time, you still have to grind it up and then cook it in oil for 3 hours. Yes, that’s 3 hours. That is quite a length of time! After that, you still have to let it rest overnight before you can use it. So it takes a lot of preparation. However, once you’ve made it, you can use over and over for a while until it all runs out, so it’s definitely worth it when there are recipes like a tomahawk ribeye and spaghetti with arugula pesto!
